Welcome To Ardlui Lodge
Loch Oich at South Laggan in Lochaber
Ardlui Lodge is an A-frame Scandinavian designed Lodge that is situated on the banks of Loch Oich at South Laggan in Lochaber.
Ardlui Lodge is situated in a group of lodges formerly known as the Great Glen Water Park. There is a water sports company that have various activities on-site at Loch Oich – www.activeoutdoorpursuits.com. Behind the lodge is the Great Glen Way, which is designated as one of Scotland’s Great Trails by Scottish Natural Heritage, and offers great walks for both 2 and 4 legged guests – we are quite happy for one or two dogs to stay in the lodge, free of charge, although we do ask that they are kept on leads until out of the parking area unless, of course, they are taking a swim in the Loch! The Great Glen Way is the coast to coast route for walkers and cyclists which goes from Fort William to Inverness along the banks of the Caledonian Canal which includes Loch Ness.
Ardlui Lodge has a double en-suite bedroom, a twin room, a separate bathroom (with bath) an open plan kitchen/dining/living room and a spacious enclosed decking that is dog and child friendly, with a table and chairs and a gas BBQ. There are Smart TVs in the sitting area and double bedroom – so bring your passwords for Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney! The lodge is fully equipped with bed linen and towels and all electricity and BBQ Gas is provided free of charge. The kitchen is well equipped with hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher and there is a double sofa bed in the living room area for additional guests. For best prices please click on Book Now to go to our management company.
We take up to 2 dogs free of charge, any additional dogs up to a maximum of 4 dogs will be charged £25 per dog per booking. Any ‘accidents’ on carpets or sofas should be cleaned with water – no chemicals or cleaning products should be used.
The Surrounding Area
Explore the Highlands
Loch Oich is part of the Caledonian Canal which is 60 miles long and connects the Scottish East Coast at Inverness with the West Coast at Corpach near Fort William. It was constructed in the early nineteenth Century by Scottish engineer Thomas Telford. Only a third of the Canal is manmade the rest is formed by the Lochs in the Great Glen. There are 29 locks in the canal and a good example is to be seen at Fort Augustus which is 10 miles North of Ardlui Lodge.
We also welcome guests who enjoy winter sports. Ardlui Lodge is 20 miles north of Aonach Mor and 27 miles North of Ben Nevis the highest mountain in the British Isles. For a longer trip Ardlui Lodge is 70 miles from the ski slopes at the Cairngorm Mountain Range near Aviemore.
For those who are interested in dining out there are two hotels within a few minutes’ drive – Glengarry Castle Hotel and Invergarry Hotel and there is also a small shop in the local petrol station near to the lodge on the Fort Augustus road.
